A break

Thursday, 4 February 2016
It's February.

Where did the time go?

Sam has been working night shifts for the past 2 months and it's been extremely difficult to meet him except for the weekends and I miss him. ):

But, this also means that when we get to see each other, we appreciate each other's company a lot more. The other day, we went shopping at 2am, bought a whole lot of twisties, ate the twisties and watched The Flash together. Fattening but happy. (:

On another occasion, I had red nail polish on and it was around Christmas time so I placed my finger on his nose and said, Hello Rudolf! Lame, but that's how we've been passing our days.

My Rudolf and I. Better to have 2 Rudolfs than 1!

I met up with Nic, Jo and Vanna when Nic came back in December and we had so much laughter. I think we spent 4 hours at Din Tai Fung.

I also met Nic + Nastasha during lunch one day.

 And that was how I ended my 2015.

Work has been okay recently. Today I had some fun. Here's how it happened:

Daryl went to play badminton but I didn't notice him leaving. After he was gone, Karen turned around and asked me "Where's Daryl". After looking around for awhile, I said "I don't know, he's been gone for awhile".

Then we both saw his pants on his chair and Karen exclaimed "Omg Daryl is walking around office without his pants?!" I pulled his chair out and saw his shirt and then found his shoes on the floor. We kind of figured he changed out of office attire and went to the gym... But I couldn't resist doing this:

And that's my boss at the crime scene. Here's a glimpse of the fun times in my office. :D

Till next time! Ciao!

Next Phase

Thursday, 30 April 2015
I have a lot to be excited about recently. I'm moving onto my next phase in life soon - the working world! Gone will be my summer holidays - then again they were never there since I've been interning every summer. Nevertheless, it still feels good!

The only thing I'm left with at school is picking up some of my official certs before I get no more access to school systems, receive my final grades for this semester on 8th May (*pray for the best*), and my graduation ceremony on 15th July! Yippee!

Went cycling with my dad today. Met an extremely cute poodle along the way who wanted to play with us. At first she came to our feet with a small branch but left when her owner called. After they walked one round, she came back again, this time with a bigger branch which she placed on my feet, desperate to play a game of fetch. I didn't play with her, but passed her owner the branch to throw instead. Such a cute little playful one. (:

Cycled along a long stretch of park connectors for the first time today and I must say, the government really put in a lot of effort to make the stretches of park connectors so scenic and relaxing. Singapore is so small yet all these are places I've never been to before, and it doesn't even feel like an urban area, it really feels like a big green park.

Later in the evening, I went for a BBQ dinner with the diving team. Almost walked into my friend's pond because it was in the middle of the house. Haha! Lucky for me I stared a bit longer and harder to see if there was really glass over the fishes - there wasn't, before I continued walking.

It's been a long and fulfilling day today. Glad I got to spend so much time with so many people today. (:

Good night.

November

Saturday, 1 November 2014
It's the 1st of November! Since I last blogged, I wrote a few time-sensitive posts that are outdated now. Too lazy to go through with publishing them because they were just ramblings and nothing much.

Decided to blog today because I haven't had a proper outlet from all the stress I've accumulated in school. I don't have any final exams this semester and that is why, all my assignments and projects play a big part in deciding my grades, with 70% of my grades dependent on my performance during my last 3 weeks of school. I have about 2 weeks to go!

Going to be blogging about my October this year! Did a few things last month including ice skating, watching a dance concert, attending Pokemon Day and visiting Google Singapore as part of a class excursion!

I went ice skating with SMUX skating team during recess week. It was one of the rare days where I did not touch any form of school or project work.

With Sam!

Hehe riding for free!

SMUX Skating Team booked the whole rink for our event Frolic on Ice and we were split into groups to play some games. Our group came in 2nd but didn't win anything. Oh well! It was fun anyway! :D

Group picture!

Then I went for NUS's Shut Up and Dance before my recess week ended.

Bumped into Apple!

Picture with the BFF. (: You were awesome!!

The girls from Council. (:

Think we kind of went mad because of How Sun's kickass performance. Haha!

Probably the only normal picture we took that night

28th Council! (:

Then I went for Pokemon Day at Jalan Besar Stadium some time ago which happened to coincide with a soccer match between Singapore's Home United and Japan's Albirex Niigata. Bro asked Sam and I along using Pokemon Day as a pretext so we definitely weren't expecting a soccer match! First soccer match I've watched in Singapore!

Waited so long to take pic with this guy

Happy bro got what he came for!

Finally, at the end of October, I paid a visit to Google on the eve of Halloween as part of a class excursion. Now everyone wants to bid for this class next semester. Hahaha.

My groupmates and I! Spirits were all very high that day and we all became kids again.

Our class. (:

It was a really fun day we spent at Google, learning what they do in the Singapore office and of course, taking a tour around the area. The mood was so fun! I guess I ended my October on an awesome note! Time to get back to work! :D

May

Saturday, 7 June 2014
I know I haven't been writing. After exams, I took a short trip to Perth with Sam and his family and then after that I spent a week in Taipei with my family. Since I came back, I fell sick with a fever and had a sudden loss of hearing in my left ear. I recovered from my fever but it has been 2 weeks and I haven't gotten back my hearing, Thankfully my right ear is fine so at least I can still hear a little.

So, I went to the ENT at NUH yesterday and took a hearing test and a blood test. The blood test left me kind of giddy and weak. I didn't even have strength to carry my handbag so I was lucky that Sam was with me, otherwise I would be sitting there, not being able to move for quite awhile. In Iceland when I took a blood test, I almost fainted too. I guess this means that I can't ever donate blood haha. Sam joked that if I ever donated blood, someone would need to donate blood back into me hahaha. Dad said that this is because I'm possibly anaemic? I guess I need to eat more iron!! I need to go back out to exercise. Urgh. I'm so unfit now. ):

Anyway, after my checkup, they found that nothing is wrong with my outer ear and that it's probably because a nerve behind my ear drum is swollen. The doc gave me steroids to take for about 2 weeks and then I have to take an MRI in July. To start of my dosage, I need to take 9 tablets at one go in a day for 3 days. The amount of steroids I have to take is quite scary and the side effects are quite dangerous so I don't feel entirely safe about it. ):

I've been feeling rather down about this lately, especially since I just started my internship 2 weeks ago. I've been taking so many MCs to see the doctor and it's making me feel very guilty but what can I do? I'm just hoping that everything is for the best and that I'll recover soon. Well, I guess there's nothing much I can do about all this so to make this post a little less depressing, I shall share pictures of my trips! :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I went on a 4-day trip with Sam and his family to Perth in early May. We planned to drive a lot so we decided to rent a Toyota Kluger, a 7-seater for 5 of us. After touching down and picking up the car, we drove to eat dinner first. The servings were huge at Ciao Italia and obviously we ordered more than we could handle. Nevertheless, it was really yummy italian food!
Before
After
We stayed at Sorrento for the first night at an Airbnb.
Fremantle market! Grabbed some breakfast here but didn't have time to walk the whole market.
I think he was eating some chocolate crepe.
Mouthful of chocolate crepe! Haha so silly. (:
I wanted to take a candid shot of him walking and this was what came out. Not bad right!
Saw this car while we were finding a place to park!
Lunch by the pier!
After that we headed to wineries, starting with Wills' Domain
Our car. It was a monster to drive in.
House of Cards was next I think.
We went to a pub restaurant to chill for awhile and to listen to some good local music!
Visited the Farmer's market the next morning after we spent the night at Margaret River.
Pretty chocolates
Then we visited more wineries that afternoon and Voyager Estate has got to be the grandest winery I've ever stepped into. Then again, the number of wineries I've visited are limited to 2 days worth of visits only. :P
Next up was Leuwin Estate which served the best food of our entire trip! It was raining on and off so the floor was always wet. It would pour 10mins of heavy rain and then stop so during each downpour, we were lucky that we had shelter or we were in the car!
We ordered 2 plates of fries because it was too good!
Chocolate factory! Probably my favourite place of the day because it's chocolate!
Free chocolate to try at the entrance! I love the milk chocolate, the dark chocolate is too bitter for me!
Nougat factory
One of the many unique flavours they had! We wanted to buy and try but they all came in big chunks like these so we didn't.
This day happened to be our 1.5 years together too. (:
Ducks crossing the stream!
After Margaret River, we drove back to Perth city and had dinner at a seafood restaurant.
They named this black and white on the menu - for obvious reasons.
We checked into another pretty place for the last 2 nights!
The next day we headed to Yanchep national park to see the koalas and kangaroos! We reached there around lunch time so the guides told us that the kangaroos were all hiding in the shades and wouldn't come back out till evening time.
So we visited the koalas first!
Then we took a guided tour at Crystal cave.
Sam took this awesome picture inside the cave with my camera. I don't know how long he set the shutter though.
We drove up an hour to Lancelin sand dunes to play before heading back to Yanchep around evening time to see the kangaroos!
Tada! The kangaroos were literally everywhere and they weren't too afraid of humans. They used their tails to balance while they nibbled food on the grass.
Tony Roma's on the last night. I think Tony Roma's steak anywhere isn't very good. But their ribs are still the best! :D
So because everyone drank beer during dinner except me, I had to drive the huge car. It was quite scary at first because I felt so short! Drove to visit Nic! :D
Don't mind my socks.
Nic was giving me and Sam a short biology lesson on the human body. Sam was freaked out by the number of books and complicated terms she had to study. Hahaha. Miss you dear!! Can't wait till you come back to Singapore!
And so the next day was home sweet home for us!
Will be posting my Taiwan trip next when I consolidate all the photos. (: I hope all will be okay soon! Fingers crossed.
