Jeju Part 1

Thursday, 28 April 2016
After skiing at Alpensia, we flew to Jeju the next day from Seoul. Our full day of skiing and travelling to and fro the day before, due to the ski resort being 3 hours away, made us really tired when we had to wake up early for our morning flight.

Grabbed some banana milk and bread to go in the morning. Felt like a kid drinking banana milk with one hand while pulling my trolley luggage across the street with the other. I didn't eat my takeaway because I felt sick with a headache but thankfully we both managed to catch some shut eye on the short flight and I felt much better after eating my dabao-ed burger when we landed.

Unlike me, Sam ate his bread as soon as he bought it so by the time we reached Jeju, he was really hungry. Hence, the first thing we did after renting a car was to eat the famous Jeju black pork! I was a teeny bit grossed out by some remnants of hair still stuck to the skin of the pork - I never ate those parts.

After driving a long way south to get to our inn, we thought we could visit one attraction in the evening - the Teddy Bear Museum. But it was closed! Oh well, I think this only reflects our absence of planning for this trip hahaha. We googled some more and found that the Alive museum was still open so we decided to visit that instead!

Van Gogh and I

Lisa and A-lisa. Get it?

Bf trapped by the tentacles of a giant monstaaaaa

Stuck in each other's reflections

Who is terrorising who?

Practicing what I would probably suck horribly at

Bf's amazingly easy one-hand hand stand

King Kong's budae jjigae was obviously not tasty enough.

Someone barely trying to save me...

Literally on top of the world! This somehow reminds me of the Game of Thrones' moon door

This ends our Day 1 of Jeju! More up next!

U with the S & the A - New York & Niagara falls

Sunday, 29 December 2013
Since Iceland is technically situated about 5 hours from the United States, we decided to fly there during our exchange. Of course in order to prepare for it, we had to finish a lot of assignments in advance. We were doing work till 5am on some days. But it was all good because we didn't have to worry about anything when we were overseas. This was Sam's first time in New York and it was pretty fun! Sadly, the number of days we allocated for NY wasn't a lot to see many things but it's a good glimpse for now!

Some snippets:

Waiting for the bus

Times Square

The American Museum of Natural History with Dum dum

The Empire State building

We flew to Buffalo and went to Niagara falls

Panorama with my iPhone

Onboard Maid of the Mist tour ferry
Canada!

If only our Burger King was this cool...
The upside down house

Chocolate ice cream mini balls (or whatever it's called) - I remember having this when I was a kid.
Love eating this in cold weather because it won't melt! :D

Niagara falls taken from the Rainbow Bridge - crossing back to the US

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here even though it was short. Awesome exchange getaway. (:

Paris

Wednesday, 21 August 2013
Tour Eiffel from opposite the river. It was closed for awhile that day due to a bomb threat so we couldn't get as near as we wanted to when we reached there.

Mona Lisa (with all the ugly reflections) in the Louvre

Steak that Sam and I shared.
Found it a good habit to share every meal with him - portion is just nice and we save money!
Notre Dame

Brought a few extra locks with me just for this purpose. Hehe. :D
If you visit, find our lock if you can!
Brilliant beyond brilliant ice cream that we queued 45mins for, as it was recommended to us by our landlord. So worth the wait.
The queue
Me with my double scoop chocolate and nougat ice cream.
Sam had mocca and hazelnut (which I stole later and was guiltily very happy about it hehe).
Ham and cheese crepe that we tried. I liked the fillings but maybe the crepe itself was too much for me.

Arc de Triomphe

My favourite place in the world, with my favourite person! <3
Queuing for our very 1st ride, the Big Thunder Mountain rollercoaster

My handsome sheriff! :D

Then we hopped on board Molly Brown for a river cruise!

Baby and his antics. Amuses me every time.

Have got to admit that it was really sweet of him to let me put this picture up as my profile picture. <3

Pirate ship

We never went in to meet Mickey Mouse because the queue was too long!

We went for a cruise which had mini palaces from all the Disney movies
Best rollercoaster ride here. Space Mountain - so awesome we had to queue twice.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

The most magical part - the parade. (':
Go kart at Autopia. It was really hard to steer, my arms started aching so I gave up and stopped steering altogether (I just let the car roll). To move forward you had to step on it and to stop you just had to let go... so Sam stepped on it while I steered and we crashed a few times. :P
Our 2nd Space Mountain ride produced this horrible unglam picture of me which Sam will never stop teasing me about. Haha!

Our shared meal!
Buzz light year. I was competing with him and I lost... boo. Unglam face again.
Where we stayed!
When we arrived with our 2 heavy luggages, we saw this and panicked. Luckily there was a lift behind. Phew!

Just 5 mins from our place.

That's all for Paris! Have a great day everyone! (:
